Meet James Blackstone, creator of the Precise Bowling Targeting System (PBTS). James is a former professional bowler who devised PBTS to improve his bowling accuracy, consistency, and overall game. Professional Bowler at 26A novice bowler at the age of 20, James joined his first league when he was 23 and turned professional three years later. He continued to bowl on the Professional Bowlers Tour for the next 9 years. Throughout his bowling career, James achieved many milestones, including
James is a two-time winner of The National Bowling Association’s prestigious Bill Rhodman Memorial Central Regional Classic, and the winner of the 2004 Bill Rhodman Memorial National Singles Classic. He has also received numerous awards; most notably, James was inducted into the Greater Dayton Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2005. Bowlers Tour Inspires Creation of PBTSWhile traveling with the Professional Bowlers Tour, James found that lane conditions varied greatly from one bowling center to another, and that the lanes at local bowling centers were not as challenging as the lanes he bowled on the professional tour. When he saw how these variations affected his game, James set out to create a system that would increase his accuracy and consistency. Originally, James invented the system for his personal use only, calling the device his “Pocket Pal.” As he began to achieve results with his system, James saw that the advice he gleaned from books written by other bowling pros didn’t always work for him, and he realized there was a clear need for his system throughout the bowling community. James continued to tweak the system in the following years, and re-released PBTS on DVD in early 2010. At HomeJames Blackstone was born in Richmond, Indiana and grew up in Dayton, Ohio. Today he makes his home in Marietta, Georgia, along with his wife Martina and their two children, Alexis and Antoine. To contact James, email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
